76ers Top the East on the NBA's New Partner Exchanges, Which Price the Roster Over the Standings

Kalshi and Polymarket each had the 76ers at 22% to win the East on October 26, 2026, the top price of 15 clubs, which means traders on the NBA's new partner exchanges rate Philadelphia's roster above a 3-1 start that trails Detroit.

The Philadelphia 76ers' Eastern Conference odds were the best on the 2027 board at both Kalshi and Polymarket on October 26, 2026, with each venue pricing the club at 22% to win the East. That is roughly one chance in five: the top price among the 15 Eastern clubs, and still far from a favorite the market expects to win. It was also the day the NBA made those same two exchanges its commercial partners.

The league's announcement on October 26, 2026 named Kalshi and Polymarket its "Preferred Prediction Market Exchanges," paired the designation with a memorandum of understanding with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and widened the NBA's DraftKings agreement to cover DraftKings' prediction-market business. ESPN's David Purdum reported the deal the same morning.

The 76ers' East Price Held Through a 3-1 Start

The 76ers' price on the conference board barely moved across the first week of the season: Polymarket went from 21% on October 23, 2026 to 22% on October 26, 2026, and Kalshi had Philadelphia at 22% on both dates. In between, the 76ers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 127-116 on October 24 and lost 106-93 to the Detroit Pistons on October 25, both at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. A one-point move across a win and a loss means traders are pricing the roster and the playoff road, not a four-game sample in October.

The clubs behind the 76ers make the same point from the other side. On October 26, 2026, Polymarket had the New York Knicks at 15% and Kalshi had them at 19%, even though the Knicks were 0-3, a run that included a 106-100 home loss to Philadelphia on October 20. Polymarket had the Boston Celtics at 14%, and Kalshi had the Toronto Raptors at 11%. Detroit, the only unbeaten team in the East at 3-0 and the club that won in Philadelphia on October 25, was at 7% on Kalshi. Read together, that means the market is ranking the conference on rosters and reputations, and it treats both the Knicks' slump and the Pistons' streak as too short to change the order.

The 76ers' line is also where the money on this board sits. By October 26, 2026, Kalshi had recorded 1,005,445 contracts on Philadelphia winning the East, the most of any club and roughly twice the next line, the Miami Heat's. Polymarket's 76ers pool stood at $38.8K, also the largest on its East board, which means the 22% figure rests on more trading than any other club's line on either venue.

The 76ers' NBA Finals Odds Sit Third of 30

On the championship board, Polymarket had the 76ers at 10% to win the 2027 NBA Finals on October 26, 2026 and Kalshi had them at 11%. That put Philadelphia third of 30 clubs, behind the San Antonio Spurs at 22% on both venues and the Oklahoma City Thunder at 18% on Polymarket, and ahead of every other Eastern club; the Knicks were next among them at 7% on Polymarket. The title price is half the conference price, which means the market treats the East as the easier half of the 76ers' road and puts two Western clubs ahead of them for the final step.

Polymarket had the 76ers at 9% on October 19, 2026, the day before the opener, so the first four games added a point there; Kalshi had them at 11% on both dates. The title line is the most traded on the board on both venues: 10,039,341 contracts on Kalshi and a $1.70M pool on Polymarket as of October 26, 2026.

The 76ers' Record and Injury Report Behind the Price

ESPN's standings on October 26, 2026 had the 76ers at 3-1, first in the Atlantic Division and second in the East, half a game behind Detroit. The opener at Madison Square Garden on October 20 was followed by a 114-106 home win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 22 and the Milwaukee win on October 24 before the Detroit loss.

The injury list is the part of the record a price has to absorb. ESPN's report on October 26, 2026 listed Joel Embiid as day-to-day after he was ruled out of the October 25 game against Detroit "due to right plantar fasciitis management." VJ Edgecombe, with an abdomen injury, and Jabari Walker, with left knee soreness, also missed that game and were listed day-to-day. The same report had Dominick Barlow out for at least two weeks with a lumbar spine bone stress response, Tacko Fall out with a quadriceps injury and Ariel Hukporti out for the season with a ruptured right Achilles tendon. Both venues held the East price at 22% with Embiid listed day-to-day, which means the market was not treating the heel management as a long absence on October 26.

What the NBA Deal Changes for the 76ers Contracts

Two parts of the league's agreement reach the boards that carry the 76ers. The conference contract resolves Yes if Philadelphia wins the Eastern Conference finals in the 2026-27 season, and the NBA says both venues will now receive its official data, through Sportradar, to operate and settle authorized NBA markets; the league did not list which markets count as authorized, so whether the 76ers' conference and title contracts are among them is not stated. The agreements also bar league and team personnel, a group that takes in the 76ers' own staff, from trading NBA contracts, and they limit which NBA markets the two venues may list without publishing that list.

NBA executive vice president Scott Kaufman-Ross told ESPN that the league's contracts with the two exchanges also address the possibility that they lose the ability to offer sports markets. "It's certainly something we've contemplated," he said. Neither the league's announcement nor ESPN's report gave financial terms.

Where the 76ers Contracts Stand in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania's Gaming Control Board told the CFTC in comments dated April 30, 2026 that a prediction-market contract on the outcome of a sporting event "is sports wagering," and Pennsylvania's Attorney General, David W. Sunday, Jr., signed the brief of Ohio, 38 other states and the District of Columbia filed October 7, 2026 in support of New Jersey's Supreme Court petition in Flaherty v. KalshiEX, LLC, No. 26-299; the Pennsylvania legal status page sets out that record and draws no conclusion about any venue's standing in the state.

The Board's letter also draws an age line that matters to a 76ers market here: a person placing a sports wager with an operator the Board licenses in Pennsylvania must be 21, while the letter says the majority, if not all, of the exchanges admit customers from 18. The league is staying out of the court fight: Kaufman-Ross told ESPN the NBA is not planning to weigh in on the Supreme Court case. "We'll let the courts decide," he said. The Supreme Court's docket for No. 26-299 shows an amicus brief from the National Football League filed October 8, 2026 in support of New Jersey's petition and lists no filing from the NBA.

This article draws no conclusion about whether any person in Pennsylvania may trade these contracts on any venue.

What Comes Next for the 76ers

The 76ers play at the Indiana Pacers on October 28, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, and return to Xfinity Mobile Arena on October 30, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern against the Knicks. Embiid's status for Indianapolis is the first test of the 22% conference price, which held through his October 25 absence. Kalshi's response to New Jersey's petition is due at the Supreme Court on November 9, 2026, and the NBA said it plans to expand its prediction-market relationships with its other official sports betting partners, and others in the industry, in the coming weeks.
