About Pennsylvania Predictions

Short answer. Pennsylvania Predictions reports what prediction markets say about Pennsylvania's elections, clubs and public questions. Market Movers Media Inc. publishes it; the site quotes the exchanges and takes no side.

Who publishes this site

Pennsylvania Predictions is published by Market Movers Media Inc., which also publishes BetSmart. The company runs a network of state sites, and this one covers the questions with a Pennsylvania answer that an exchange has turned into a contract: the race for governor, the state's seats in the U.S. House, the season and championship markets on its professional clubs and on Penn State and Pitt football, and any other contract a venue lists that settles on something in Pennsylvania. Pages carry the PennsylvaniaPrediction Staff byline, and the publisher answers at hello@marketmoversmediainc.com.

The site runs no market of its own and has no reader accounts, orders or deposits. Its pages are for reading what the venues that list these contracts are saying, beside what the public record says about the questions they settle on.

Where the numbers come from

Market prices on this site are exchange prices supplied by Prediction Genius and shown as percentages. Each figure is one venue's own quote, printed beside the name of the venue that set it. When more than one venue prices the same line, the number a page leads with is the cheapest Yes price any venue quotes, and that venue is named next to it. Two venues' prices are never folded into one figure.

A percentage on this site is what a market implies, not a forecast or a recommendation. It records where traders on one venue last agreed to deal, and a court filing, a poll, an injury report or a single large order can move it within minutes. Every price block shows when it was last updated. The writing around the prices explains what a contract settles on, which source decides it and what has moved it, and leaves the number to the board.

What this site does not do

It does not tell anyone to buy, sell or hold a contract, and it does not rate one exchange above another on price, safety or anything else. Nothing here is investment, financial or legal advice. A venue is named on a page because it prices the contract the page is about, and the site says nothing more about it than that.

The desk does not set, adjust or influence a price. Figures arrive from the exchanges unchanged, and no venue pays for coverage, sees a page before it runs or has a say in its wording; the disclosure page sets that out.

Whether someone in Pennsylvania may trade a particular contract is a different question. The legal status page reports what Pennsylvania's sports wagering law, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and the federal courts have said, each with its date, and draws no conclusion from them.

Corrections and reviews

Corrections are made on the page they concern and dated. A corrected page says what was wrong and when it changed, instead of absorbing the fix into a quiet rewrite. To report an error, write to hello@marketmoversmediainc.com with the page, the sentence at issue and, where one exists, the document that shows the right answer; the contact page lists what else that mailbox handles.

Every page shows when it was last reviewed. Legal and election pages are reviewed every 14 days and after any filing or result. Club pages are reviewed weekly during a season and monthly outside it, person pages every 30 days, section pages every 90 days, and pages like this one every 180 days. A page whose review date has passed stays published while it is checked again: a review updates a page and never takes it down. The privacy policy and the terms of service cover what the site records and the rules for using it.
